In 1981 GEMÜ GmbH Switzerland emerged from the German family run company GEMÜ GmbH & Co. KG based in Ingelfingen (Baden-Württemberg). It developed to a centre of excellence for superior plastic solutions. Please visit our three divisions Medical, Valves and Components.

At our medical technology division injection moulding of advanced polymers is one of our core competencies. Our spectrum of services extends from engineering, injection mould tooling, clean room injection moulding through to completely assembled, tested and packaged system solutions in plastic.

The Rotkreuz production plant also manufactures valves, measurement and control systems of the GEMÜ Group, particularly high-purity (HP) valves. These are developed and produced specifically for process equipment, ultra-pure chemical supply systems and clean-water processing and distribution installations in the semiconductor industry.

As a supplier of customised polymer components for industrial applications we develop products in areas such as fibre-reinforced plastics, high-temperature materials, with metal inserts and mechanical post-processing.

Today, GEMÜ Switzerland can be justifiably called the 'Headquarters of Plastics' within the GEMÜ Group. GEMÜ Switzerland currently employs more than 100 people. A lean organizational structure guarantees the flexibility to respond rapidly to customer needs.

History of GEMÜ GmbH Switzerland:

1981: Company established
1982: Start of production in Zug
1983: Opening of new production facilities with 5,500 m2 working area in Rotkreuz
1988: Successful entry into the semiconductor market: HP ('High Purity') valves and accessories for semiconductor production
2002: Certification to ISO 9001:2000
2003: Successful establishment of a new arm of the company: 'GEMÜ Medical Plastics Processing Division'
2004: Plastic production in three-shift working, ensuring high availability
2005: Machinery and equipment expanded to 20 plastic injection moulding machines with locking forces between 25 and 500 tonnes
2006: Certification to ISO 13485:2003
2007: Acquisition of land reserve for setting up a second manufacturing plant
2008: GEMÜ GmbH Switzerland workforce passes the 100 mark
2009: GEMÜ Switzerland offers direct sales of valves for the entire Swiss market
